Joideep performs all aspects of elective and trauma shoulder and elbow surgery.
Shoulder procedures include primary and revision shoulder replacement; arthroscopic rotator cuff surgery, arthroscopic instability repairs; subacromial decompression; distal clavicle excision; arthroscopic release for frozen shoulder and fixation of shoulder fractures and dislocations.
Elbow procedures include arthroscopic surgery for elbow stiffness, tennis elbow, and arthritis; distal biceps reconstruction; ligament reconstruction; autologous blood injections; primary and revision total elbow replacement; elbow hemiarthroplasty (partial replacement) and fixation of elbow fractures and dislocations.

Joideep is a member of the Sussex Orthopaedic Research Group (SORG). He is actively involved in clinical research and supervises undergraduate and postgraduate students and surgeons with research through collaboration with Brighton & Sussex Medical School and Kent, Surrey & Sussex Surgical Deanery. He has authored over 30 peer reviewed scientific publications and written numerous invited book chapters on shoulder and elbow surgery.
Teaching & Training
Joideep is involved in undergraduate teaching at Brighton & Sussex Medical School and postgraduate teaching to trainee orthopaedic surgeons through KSS deanery.
He is a clinical and educational supervisor for orthopaedic trainees at BSUH and is involved in trainee assessments and mentorship through KSS deanery.
He is also involved in peer-to-peer teaching of fellow orthopaedic surgeons as an AO trauma instructor and on several shoulder and elbow surgery related courses.
Joideep is married with two feisty young children who keep him and his wife on their toes. He is a keen sportsman who enjoys running, skiing and cycling and has played Saturday league football for over 20 years up until recently when his body has told him to stop! He also loves cooking and is a founding member of a Steak club.
