Specialities

All aspects of foot and ankle surgery including minimally invasive foot surgery and any complex reconstructive hindfoot and midfoot corrections for diabetic charcot arthropathy, post-traumatic, neurological conditions, and rheumatoid arthritis. I also perform total ankle replacements.

Special interest in complex reconstructive surgery to the foot and ankle.

All types of foot trauma.

Training and Qualifications

Qualified: 1996 - Kings College School of Medicine and Dentistry, London (Bsc Hons and MBBS)
Basic Surgical Training: Norfolk and Norwich  Hospital
Orthopaedic Training: Northeast London ( Royal London) rotation
Fellowship: York University Hospital – Depuy Fellowship for Foot and Ankle Surgery (Trauma and Elective and Minimally Invasive Surgery)

Professional Interests

Local Service Development: 
Setting up a Foot and Ankle Hub for Total Ankle Joint Replacements at UHSx East.

Developing: 
Assisting in the development of a Multidisciplinary Diabetic foot Service  with a specialist interest in Charcot arthropathy.

Exploring:   
Tendoachilles ruptures and  whether functional strength is compromised depending upon the length of the tear.

Teaching:
I give a yearly lecture at the University on the Foot and Ankle Pathology relating to anatomy and have medical students in my clinics during term time. I am also an educational and clinical supervisor to trainee doctors within the Trust.

Medicolegal Practice:
I have a successful medicolegal practice  and currently am enjoying doing more clinical negligence work in Foot and Ankle Surgery.

Aesthetics Practice:
I am a qualified Medical Aesthetician (Rejuvenate Ltd)  and am coming to the end of completing the Level 7 Diploma in Clinical Aesthetics. I provide a wide range of services including the administration of Botulinum toxin and fillers for a variety of aesthetic reasons.

Personal Interests

In my spare time when I am not ferrying the kids around to their activities I spend my time sketching, going on walks, cake decorating and cooking.

I also love relaxing doing yoga both Hatha and Yin yoga. I have recently found some lovely local yoga retreats.

My other interests include charitable work – nationally I do the Shine walk every year and internationally I help run a medical charity in Bangladesh where we help pay for treatment for diabetic patients and run free clinics for the local population when I visit.
