Professional interests

Clinical: Joideep delivers all aspects of shoulder and elbow surgery including joint replacement, keyhole surgery and trauma. He also has a complex practice receiving frequent tertiary referrals from other surgeons across the UK. His specialist niche is elbow surgery for which he is a national leader in this field.

Academic: Joideep is involved in trainee teaching, student mentoring and peer to peer consultant education. He runs a number of courses related to shoulder and elbow surgery and is invited to speak, and teach at numerous conferences in the UK and abroad. He sits on a number of national and international committees related to shoulder and elbow surgery, is the fellowship lead for the sussex shoulder and elbow fellowship and is an honorary reader at brighton & sussex Medical School.

Research: Joideep is an active researcher and has published around 100 articles on shoulder and elbow surgery including peer reviewed papers, book chapters and surgical techniques. He is a founding member of the sussex orthopaedic research group and is involved in recruiting patients to national portfolio studies.

Personal interests

Joideep is married with two feisty young children who keep him and his wife on their toes. He is a keen sportsman who enjoys running, skiing and cycling. He also continues to play football despite his body telling him to stop after 20 years of Saturday league football. He also loves cooking and is a founding member of a Steak club.
